Christ’s Body

In times like these, we need more of God’s grace than ever before. I thank God for the power of His Holy Spirit. We must pray for our generation in such a stressful day. The only hope is in Jesus Christ; however, most do not see this truth. I want to thank all of you who are so faithful in praying and support this ministry, your ministry! No, we have never seen such an attack on the church, Christ’s Body. We are really being tested as to where our eternal help lies. The Word of God has been warning all of us for years, yet so many just can’t see the truth. Jesus is the truth, and most do not see Him. As we celebrate Pentecost Sunday may we remember its all about His death, burial and resurrection. Had He not given His life; He could never impart His Holy Spirit to those who believe Him. It is the Power of His Holy Spirit that keeps us against all the attacks of the enemy.

If we ever have been called to stand together, it Is now. We must believe His word and be His witnesses as never before. Matthew 28:19 is where Jesus gave us the final commission before returning to the Father, the message is very clear to all born-again Christians, the harvest is ready, we must find ways to reach them before it’s too late. I know our church is stronger than ever because we are of those who know the end Is near.

I am praying we all will be re-baptized in His Holy Spirit and rise to a higher level in His Spirit, not our power or gifting. May this be a day of outpouring we will never forget. God bless each and every one of you as we go forward in His Name.

                                                                            God Bless,

                                                                           Pastor   Roger

Seak God’s Face

What a week we have enjoyed. World events are happening faster than ever. The Word of God is being confirmed minute by minute. I really believe our prayers matter even as we pray for the world. As God pours out His Holy Spirit, the evil one is doing everything he can to distort the truth. In the Daily Bread this morning, we read Matthew 24:12 ”And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” Interpreted “apathy” we must recognize the signs.

Jesus said, “You can read the weather but not the signs of the Son of Man?” We must rely on the “Holy Spirit” at all times to keep up us on the path of truth. Jesus is the truth. Why are so many trying to silence Christianity, they are the ones who are blinded by the god of this age.

Just about anyone can point out the problems but not many can bring answers for the battle going on. I am convinced each one of us must seek the face of God. We do praise Him for His hand of blessings but we need to see His glory. We all know only things done in the Spirit will last forever. Then why do we worry so much for these things that will pass away? We must enter into His Holy realm if we want to win the world. Being like the world or friends with those who do not love Jesus will not win them. Some think if you keep silent then they will come to Jesus. How foolish, only the gospel changes lives, breaks chains, set captives free. That is our mission and I am praying we will win thousands before the end.

Thank God for every one of you who are helping to win the lost. Spirit Filled is on the move and I know we are on the right path.

                                                                   God Bless You,
                                                                  Pastor   Roger

No man is an island

Goodbye January, hello February. I hope you all have a great Ground Hog Day and it goes in your favor.

We enjoyed a wonderful January even though it was extremely busy. I want to give a big thanks to all who help with all these ministries.

One lady said the Women’s Meeting was the best ever and I think the “March of Life” was a record on the West Coast. We are all highly blessed even in the middle of attacks from the spoiler.

You have heard it said ‘no man is an island’, I would also say ‘no pastor can do much by himself’, but when he has a great church like this one, much can be done in the body of Christ’s Kingdom.

The Worship Team and Choir had a great dinner meeting and I think the Passion is at an all-time high. We are praying about how to fill the Choir and getting more men voices singing for the glory of God.

Our renewed vision for more boys and girls is becoming more clear day by day. Lots of ideas are coming and many of you are stepping up to the challenge. The public schools are at an all time low and we need to reach out to as many kids as possible and teach them the words of Jesus. At Spirit Filled Church, we are not confused about genders. The Bible is very clear God made male and female in the beginning (Mark 10:6). This is an excellent time to invite families who are discouraged with the public school and can’t afford private schools. We invite any and all boys and girls to the Ranger Derby. This is always a great hit and lots of fun for all (even older folks.)

I am excited about learning the perfect plan God has for Spirit Filled and our families.

Stand up for those who are helpless

I am writing this prophetically because these events have not yet taken place. We had a wonderful celebration of life for Ray Marks and family, the Women’s Meeting was a great time by all, The March for Life in San Francisco was a great success. I trust we are all home as we marched for the unborn who cannot protect themselves. As born-again Christians, we must stand up for those who are helpless. I believe God has called His church to be pro-life. We must stand for truth and righteousness.

As we are already closing out the first month of 2020, we find ourselves pressing in more then ever. The only way to know God’s perfect plan is to spend more time in His presence. God is opening doors for our church as we endeavor to reach out to those who need Jesus. I thank God for all for our volunteers who are always ready and willing to go the extra mile.

We are updating our church website and we need pictures of our department leaders. Once we get these, we will be able to let each department leader keep their link updated.

Our school is really blessed, and we are praying about bringing in more boys and girls to our Sunday School and other ministries. We are a praying church and we know we must be specific as we pray and intercede. We have great youth services; we just need to fill these rooms with young people who will be trained in discipleship. Every young person has great potential. They just need us to train them in our Lord. I am sure God is leading us in this path. Keep up the good work.

                                                                   God Bless You,
                                                                  Pastor   Roger

Santity of Life

January is Sanctity of Life month, and Spirit Filled Church is on board 100%. Next Saturday we travel to San Francisco to march for life. We want to let the world know we believe in fighting for the unborn. When someone can’t defend themselves, I believe God would have those who can defend the helpless. We believe that every person has a God given right to live, after all, He is the who can give life and even more abundantly.

God gives and God takes away. On Friday morning, Ray Marks went to his eternal reward. We have known Ray for many years and I know he loved and served Jesus. Let’s all pray for comfort for his family as it is always difficult to say the final farewell. We know Ray loved his family and I know he wants everyone of them to be with him again. Let’s pray that his passing will bring his kids to a closer walk with Jesus.

There are a lot of great tings happening here at Spirit Filled. Our men had great kick off dinner and our ladies will have theirs next Friday. I believe our people are at an all-time high of expectation. Have you thanked Jesus for a true Spirit Filled Church this year? What a blessing to be a part of Christ’s body who knows His Holy Spirit is for today.

I know we have the best working church in the city. I want to thank all of you who decorated and also took it all down. Thank God for our volunteers who go above and beyond the call of duty. Our study Tuesday evening is a reminder of why we work for His Kingdom and how He will reward those who are faithful. God bless each one of you.

Building Christ’s Kingdom

Two down 50 to go, so how is your plan working in building Christ’s Kingdom so far? It has been said no one is ever late, they just didn’t start on time. Spirit Filled Church is off to a great start. Beginning with our New Year’s Eve Watch Night service. Ask your Christian friends how many attended their “Watch Night Service” and see them give you a puzzled look. It’s not the sheep’s fault if they do not have a leader. You might say ‘what’s the big deal about a Watch Night Service?’ Well, not only does Jesus expect us to watch at night but each and every day.

Matthew 25:13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”

Remember the therefore rule, go back and see what it is there for! When we do that in this passage, we see we better be sure our lamp is full and have a reserve of oil. The oil in the scripture always represents the anointing of the Holy Spirit. How can Christians be filled if they haven’t heard about the in-filling? Acts 19:2 He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”

Please note this was several years after the “Day of Pentecost” meaning the Holy Spirit was fully come. Acts 2:1

People were being saved but not all were being baptized in the Holy Spirit. How can they if they have not been taught? This Tuesday evening we begin a study on doing works. And here again I think many Christians do not think they need to do works or be involved in the work of the church “The Body of Jesus”. I think this will be a great opportunity to self-examine ourselves. It will help as we go forward in the New Year to reach out to those who have not heard.

                                                                   God Bless You,
                                                                  Pastor   Roger

Happy Mothers’ Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the ladies in church today. We are very thankful for the godly women God has placed in this church body. As you know, I love Mother’s Day and want to remind all women this is about you and your mother. You do not need to be a mother in order that you would honor your mother, even should she have been a poor role model she still deserves your respect according to the Word of God. I pray we all will remember the mothers who gave us life. I, for one, am “pro-life!”

As we look ahead to this next weekend service with Evangelist Mario Murillo, his wife and team, we are anticipating a great harvest of souls. We also expect to see miracles and signs and wonders. Brother Mario has asked us to bring everyone who needs a miracle of healing. I am believing for the sick to be made well and the lost to be found. Remember, this was not man’s idea but Jesus recorded His words over two thousand years ago. Yes, it does matter how you feel about this. We must gather in Christ’s name with expectant faith.

     Mark 9:23-24,
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

Jesus is only asking that we would exercise the faith he has already given us. I am confident when we get our eyes off ourselves and see Jesus, we will have these great miracles for our church and even the world.

Thank God for your prayers and support. I know Jesus has Spirit Filled on the right course.

Spring into Soul Winning

Spring is officially here, everyone knows this is a new season. What would God be saying to Spirit Filled Church as we enter this new season? I am convinced He is speaking to our church about soul winning. I believe the Holy Spirit has been speaking to me these last couple of months to engage in active evangelism. We have tried all kinds of technics, everything from side walk Sunday School to giving new bicycles. The most effective way I have experienced is the Body of Christ agreeing on reaching out to people we know and cross our paths on a daily basis.

  • Step one is to agree it is God’s will and command for believers to win souls.
  • Step two is to pray and ask God to open our eyes to those He has marked for salvation.

I know that Jesus died for all sinners but we know God knows everyone will not be saved. We also know there are people we know who are ready to receive and serve our Lord and Savior. There is no higher calling than to be a disciple of our resurrected living God. How happy are you knowing your sin debt is paid in full? Well, there are many just like us who would receive Him if only we could bring them to Him. Let’s pray like never before for the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us to those who are held in bondage. Jesus is the answer and we are simply instruments in his hands.

My prayer simply, Jesus help me to see through your eyes and guide me to a hurting broken heart that you will heal and give eternal life. Don’t look for the most beautiful but look for those who are down trodden and need a savior. Jesus said ‘the well do not need a physician.’ He will guide us to those He has marked by His Holy Spirit.
God Bless,

Palm Sunday

The History of Palm Sunday

The celebration of Palm Sunday originated in the Jerusalem Church, around the late fourth century. The early Palm Sunday ceremony consisted of prayers, hymns, and sermons recited by the clergy while the people walked to various holy sites throughout the city. At the final site, the place where Christ ascended into heaven, the clergy would read from the gospels concerning the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. In the early evening they would return to the city reciting: “Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord.” The children would carry palm and olive branches as the people returned through the city back to the church, where they would hold evening services.

The Meaning of Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday commemorates the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. The gospels record the arrival of Jesus riding into the city on a donkey, while the crowds spread their cloaks and palm branches on the street and shouted “Hosanna to the Son of David” and “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord” to honor him as their long-awaited Messiah and King.

The significance of Jesus riding a donkey and having his way paved with palm branches is a fulfillment of a prophecy spoken by the prophet Zechariah (Zechariah 9:9). In biblical times, the regional custom called for kings and nobles arriving in procession to ride on the back of a donkey. The donkey was a symbol of peace; those who rode upon them proclaimed peaceful intentions. The laying of palm branches indicated that the king of palm branches indicated that the king of dignitary was arriving in victory or triumph.

God Bless,
Pastor  Roger

Woe

Isaiah 5:20-23 – Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness. Who put bitterness for sweet and sweet for bitter. 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. 22 Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks, 23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent.
Never in my life have I witnessed such media bias. Just this week Obama broke our law by giving $400 million to our enemy for ransom. However, the big story in the major media is that Donald Trump said he saw a video of the plane delivering the cash.      Now I ask you, how can Americans be so gullible?
Isn’t this what the prophets of old prophesied would be happening? And still fifty percent are willing to remain in the darkness of unbelief. Only God can open the blind spiritual eyes, and unstop spiritual deafness.
We, at Spirit Filled, believe in the power of prayer and the power at the ballot box. How can our fellow Americans be enlightened without the intervention of God’s Holy Spirit? Romans 8:26 tells us exactly how to pray when we don’t know what to pray for. The Bible is clear during these times, we must allow the Holy Spirit to pray through us. Use our mouth to speak the words in the unknown tongue that He wants prayed. No, God doesn’t do anything on earth without our prayers. That’s why it’s so important that we allow Him to pray through us, I believe as we continue to pray and obey, He will have His perfect will.
God Bless Pastor Roger
