8-16-20

faithful Members of Spirit Filled:

Here we are in the third Sunday of a five Sunday month. Most pastors are excited for five Sundays however this has been a very difficult month and we are only halfway through.

The Bible clearly teaches those who have a personal relationship with Jesus, it is good even in bad. But we must focus on Him not ourselves. Sometimes I think we can get our eyes off heaven when days are so difficult. We must remember the prize set before us.

Philippians 3:14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

When we are in the valley of despair and being hammered, we can lose sight of our “upward call of God”. I often say, “if the devil had power to kill us, we would all be dead.” He is trying to weaken our faith, so let’s all look up and take hope, Jesus is our strength. Someone wisely said “it is hard to keep vision when someone is poking you in your eye.

This is why we need and must have the Body of Christ. As we unite in worship and prayer, we will be strengthened. I thank God for each and every member as you all know, yes we have Jesus but we need each other, He our creator made it this way.

We have a lot of people doing double duty and I want to thank each and everyone of you who help carry the load.  We must stand together and pray all the more.

Every time we gather in corporate prayer, my heart is full of joy and I receive supernatural strength. No one is saying these are not hard times but we are saying we have the power of Christ’s Spirit within.

                                                                            God Bless

Fathers Day

Today we celebrate a great tradition. All sons and daughters express their feelings, emotions, and love towards their fathers. It is a lovely way to remember the honor of fatherhood. This day we also realize that there is no society that could be grown without fathers. A father is the most precious gift of God who brings us on earth and grows a next generation with his priceless love, care, and sacrifices…
Without our Father in Heaven we would surely be destroyed.  In Mathew 9:9 it tells us how to pray, Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name”.  His name is holy and as we honor our fathers here on earth, we must remember to honor our Holy Father in Heaven.  He is the creator of all and deserves our worship.
In today’s world, more than any other time in history, we need to acknowledge our heavenly father.  He is the only hope we must have to make it through the next day.  Our earthly fathers can only do so much to get us through these trying times, but our heavenly father will always see us through whatever we are going through.  We must learn to always call on Jesus, our heavenly father, and receive His healing and comfort.
As I always say, “It is all about Jesus”, He is the way, the truth, and the light.   As we celebrate this Father’s Day let us take time to remember our Heavenly Father in Heaven.

                                                                            God Bless

The Children

Well, our 30th anniversary has passed and it was a wonderful celebration. We want to give a big thank you to John and the men who worked so hard to serve our great church. I especially want to thank our Yap Island members who also loaded the Coffman’s U-Haul Wednesday afternoon. What a blessing all of you laborers are as I know God will continue to bless each and every one of you. I have been thinking all week about what a great job you men did and then Friday morning our Daily Bread really gave confirmation. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. (10) For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.

This has always been one of God’s greatest blessings to our church, as we have so many committed men and women who always pitch in to help make this a wonderful place to be.

Now as we enter the summer, we are seeking God has to how do we reach more boys and girls with the gospel. I think first every youth leader, teacher, Rangers, Missionettes and even the nursey should ask God to renew their vision for kids. One thing I have learned if the leader isn’t excited about their ministry, the people sure won’t be. I know we all are sold out to Jesus but we all must pray and ask God to let the spiritual fire burn inside and this goes for me as well as all of you. Jesus was always loving children and forbid the disciples of keeping them from Him. I sure remember my Sunday School teachers and felt their love for me as they taught these great Bible stories. We won’t have to keep telling people we love them when they can sense our spirit just like we sense theirs. We will win them by the love of Jesus and the power of His Word.

                                                                    God Bless,

                                                                    Pastor   Roger

Celebrating 30 Years

So what is God saying to the church? Perhaps “I told you so!” Yes, why are we surprised to see these things happening? It’s all in His word. We are seeing some good signs with healing and recovery. I believe it is an answer to all our prayers. Isn’t it amazing when we trust and obey that good things take place just like Jesus said?

Today we celebrate 30 years since God birthed this work. We have been tremendously blessed, once again it is what God said. Jesus said He will build His church upon the Rock, the Rock is none other than Jesus Himself. When we begin and even before we began, God clearly spoke to me we would build on these through principles, prayer, praise, and worship and Word of God. That was our beginning and by His grace will remain until He raptures His church. We must constantly remind ourselves it is His church, His Body, here on earth. Even though He has allowed us to help build, we didn’t give one drop of blood. It is by His blood, His innocent blood that we have eternal life. I am sure you have noticed this plain old-fashioned altar in front today. I believe this is one of the reasons we have been so blessed is that we refuse to give in on prayer. However, no Pastor can have a praying church without praying people. I thank God for each and every one of you who stand with me on this. We know it is the power of God who directs our church and He has given us a great core of prayer warriors and Christian soldiers who know Jesus is the only answer to this crazy world and all the wickedness we see on a daily basis.

I hope all of you stay with us today for this celebration lunch. I do believe the best is yet to come by His grace.

                                                                    God Bless,

                                                                    Pastor   Roger

Christ’s Body

In times like these, we need more of God’s grace than ever before. I thank God for the power of His Holy Spirit. We must pray for our generation in such a stressful day. The only hope is in Jesus Christ; however, most do not see this truth. I want to thank all of you who are so faithful in praying and support this ministry, your ministry! No, we have never seen such an attack on the church, Christ’s Body. We are really being tested as to where our eternal help lies. The Word of God has been warning all of us for years, yet so many just can’t see the truth. Jesus is the truth, and most do not see Him. As we celebrate Pentecost Sunday may we remember its all about His death, burial and resurrection. Had He not given His life; He could never impart His Holy Spirit to those who believe Him. It is the Power of His Holy Spirit that keeps us against all the attacks of the enemy.

If we ever have been called to stand together, it Is now. We must believe His word and be His witnesses as never before. Matthew 28:19 is where Jesus gave us the final commission before returning to the Father, the message is very clear to all born-again Christians, the harvest is ready, we must find ways to reach them before it’s too late. I know our church is stronger than ever because we are of those who know the end Is near.

I am praying we all will be re-baptized in His Holy Spirit and rise to a higher level in His Spirit, not our power or gifting. May this be a day of outpouring we will never forget. God bless each and every one of you as we go forward in His Name.

                                                                            God Bless,

                                                                           Pastor   Roger

Seak God’s Face

What a week we have enjoyed. World events are happening faster than ever. The Word of God is being confirmed minute by minute. I really believe our prayers matter even as we pray for the world. As God pours out His Holy Spirit, the evil one is doing everything he can to distort the truth. In the Daily Bread this morning, we read Matthew 24:12 ”And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” Interpreted “apathy” we must recognize the signs.

Jesus said, “You can read the weather but not the signs of the Son of Man?” We must rely on the “Holy Spirit” at all times to keep up us on the path of truth. Jesus is the truth. Why are so many trying to silence Christianity, they are the ones who are blinded by the god of this age.

Just about anyone can point out the problems but not many can bring answers for the battle going on. I am convinced each one of us must seek the face of God. We do praise Him for His hand of blessings but we need to see His glory. We all know only things done in the Spirit will last forever. Then why do we worry so much for these things that will pass away? We must enter into His Holy realm if we want to win the world. Being like the world or friends with those who do not love Jesus will not win them. Some think if you keep silent then they will come to Jesus. How foolish, only the gospel changes lives, breaks chains, set captives free. That is our mission and I am praying we will win thousands before the end.

Thank God for every one of you who are helping to win the lost. Spirit Filled is on the move and I know we are on the right path.

                                                                   God Bless You,
                                                                  Pastor   Roger

No man is an island

Goodbye January, hello February. I hope you all have a great Ground Hog Day and it goes in your favor.

We enjoyed a wonderful January even though it was extremely busy. I want to give a big thanks to all who help with all these ministries.

One lady said the Women’s Meeting was the best ever and I think the “March of Life” was a record on the West Coast. We are all highly blessed even in the middle of attacks from the spoiler.

You have heard it said ‘no man is an island’, I would also say ‘no pastor can do much by himself’, but when he has a great church like this one, much can be done in the body of Christ’s Kingdom.

The Worship Team and Choir had a great dinner meeting and I think the Passion is at an all-time high. We are praying about how to fill the Choir and getting more men voices singing for the glory of God.

Our renewed vision for more boys and girls is becoming more clear day by day. Lots of ideas are coming and many of you are stepping up to the challenge. The public schools are at an all time low and we need to reach out to as many kids as possible and teach them the words of Jesus. At Spirit Filled Church, we are not confused about genders. The Bible is very clear God made male and female in the beginning (Mark 10:6). This is an excellent time to invite families who are discouraged with the public school and can’t afford private schools. We invite any and all boys and girls to the Ranger Derby. This is always a great hit and lots of fun for all (even older folks.)

I am excited about learning the perfect plan God has for Spirit Filled and our families.

Stand up for those who are helpless

I am writing this prophetically because these events have not yet taken place. We had a wonderful celebration of life for Ray Marks and family, the Women’s Meeting was a great time by all, The March for Life in San Francisco was a great success. I trust we are all home as we marched for the unborn who cannot protect themselves. As born-again Christians, we must stand up for those who are helpless. I believe God has called His church to be pro-life. We must stand for truth and righteousness.

As we are already closing out the first month of 2020, we find ourselves pressing in more then ever. The only way to know God’s perfect plan is to spend more time in His presence. God is opening doors for our church as we endeavor to reach out to those who need Jesus. I thank God for all for our volunteers who are always ready and willing to go the extra mile.

We are updating our church website and we need pictures of our department leaders. Once we get these, we will be able to let each department leader keep their link updated.

Our school is really blessed, and we are praying about bringing in more boys and girls to our Sunday School and other ministries. We are a praying church and we know we must be specific as we pray and intercede. We have great youth services; we just need to fill these rooms with young people who will be trained in discipleship. Every young person has great potential. They just need us to train them in our Lord. I am sure God is leading us in this path. Keep up the good work.

                                                                   God Bless You,
                                                                  Pastor   Roger

Santity of Life

January is Sanctity of Life month, and Spirit Filled Church is on board 100%. Next Saturday we travel to San Francisco to march for life. We want to let the world know we believe in fighting for the unborn. When someone can’t defend themselves, I believe God would have those who can defend the helpless. We believe that every person has a God given right to live, after all, He is the who can give life and even more abundantly.

God gives and God takes away. On Friday morning, Ray Marks went to his eternal reward. We have known Ray for many years and I know he loved and served Jesus. Let’s all pray for comfort for his family as it is always difficult to say the final farewell. We know Ray loved his family and I know he wants everyone of them to be with him again. Let’s pray that his passing will bring his kids to a closer walk with Jesus.

There are a lot of great tings happening here at Spirit Filled. Our men had great kick off dinner and our ladies will have theirs next Friday. I believe our people are at an all-time high of expectation. Have you thanked Jesus for a true Spirit Filled Church this year? What a blessing to be a part of Christ’s body who knows His Holy Spirit is for today.

I know we have the best working church in the city. I want to thank all of you who decorated and also took it all down. Thank God for our volunteers who go above and beyond the call of duty. Our study Tuesday evening is a reminder of why we work for His Kingdom and how He will reward those who are faithful. God bless each one of you.

Building Christ’s Kingdom

Two down 50 to go, so how is your plan working in building Christ’s Kingdom so far? It has been said no one is ever late, they just didn’t start on time. Spirit Filled Church is off to a great start. Beginning with our New Year’s Eve Watch Night service. Ask your Christian friends how many attended their “Watch Night Service” and see them give you a puzzled look. It’s not the sheep’s fault if they do not have a leader. You might say ‘what’s the big deal about a Watch Night Service?’ Well, not only does Jesus expect us to watch at night but each and every day.

Matthew 25:13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”

Remember the therefore rule, go back and see what it is there for! When we do that in this passage, we see we better be sure our lamp is full and have a reserve of oil. The oil in the scripture always represents the anointing of the Holy Spirit. How can Christians be filled if they haven’t heard about the in-filling? Acts 19:2 He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”

Please note this was several years after the “Day of Pentecost” meaning the Holy Spirit was fully come. Acts 2:1

People were being saved but not all were being baptized in the Holy Spirit. How can they if they have not been taught? This Tuesday evening we begin a study on doing works. And here again I think many Christians do not think they need to do works or be involved in the work of the church “The Body of Jesus”. I think this will be a great opportunity to self-examine ourselves. It will help as we go forward in the New Year to reach out to those who have not heard.

                                                                   God Bless You,
                                                                  Pastor   Roger
