Pastor Roger’s Blog

faithful Members of Spirit Filled:

Are you ready to help Spirit Filled Church complete the vision God clearly gave us? One thing I know for sure, the Bible teaches us this is a body ministry. No one or even a few can complete the task of spiritual unity without all on board.

Romans 12:4-5 For as we have many members in one body, but all members do not have the same function. (5) So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

This is basic teaching even elementary if you will. Yet so many still think they are not part of the greater work. Men didn’t invent the church; Jesus birthed His church on the day of Pentecost. I don’t think He has changed His mind after giving His life for all who are willing to help complete His vision for a lost and dying world.

As your under-shepherd I am urging each and everyone who claims Spirit Filled as their own, rise up and together we will win those who God has assigned for salvation. Our ministry is to find them and lead them through the gate of salvation, that is our assignment.

We are praying and believing the Holy Spirit will lead us as we endeavor to develop a ministry to the lost and broken-hearted.

I want to encourage every department head your calling is no less than mine. If you don’t get in with real conviction, how can we expect others to follow? I believe God gave us a mandate last Sunday with a wonderful response to the altar call, something a lot of churches are not acquainted with. We must stand together and keep our priorities in order ⎯ God, family and our country.

                                                                    Pastor   Roger

faithful Members of Spirit Filled:

It looks like we have rounded the curve on this life killing virus. “Praise God!” However, we must continue our prayers for our nation and the saints. The church, as you know, is under satanic attack. There really is a lying devil who wants to take you out and the entire Body of Christ. This is no time for quitting, rather it is a time for all spiritual warriors to step up and declare Jesus is Lord.

Once again, we are into a lot of different opportunities for each and every one of us to minister. There are no bored frontline soldiers engaged in battle. The ones who are bored and want to quit are the ones who never have felt the glory of winning. It may look like Christians are losing but when we stay in God’s Word, we know Jesus already defeated the enemy on Mt Calvary.

If we don’t learn how to see with spiritual eyes, we never will see the unseen.

2 Corinthians 4:18 While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Unbelievers will never understand this truth because they do not have spiritual eyes. Their spiritual eyes have been blinded by the devil.

2 Corinthians 4:3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

It’s not enough just to believe, even the devil believes. James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. You do well, even the demons believe − and tremble!

We must not only believe but act upon those beliefs; and how do we do that? Be engaged in battle, learn how to allow the Holy Spirit to pray through you accomplishing His perfect will.

End of the month already? Would you say your faith has been tested this month, perhaps all of 2020? Of course, the Word of God tells us we will be tested.

1 Peter 1:7 That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Many Christians have said, ‘even if I am thrown into the fiery furnace, I will not deny Jesus.’ Easy to say, difficult to put into practice. Look at what’s happening right now and ask yourself, ‘have I walked in fear?’

Daniel 3:25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

So it seems a lot of Christians are walking in fire this year. If you are one of them, then how is your walk going, can others see the Son of God with you?

Next, to be being born-again, we need the church body that we might be encouraged in difficult days. I need the fellowship, prayer, and testimonies of other Christians. Let’s be real, the world just doesn’t get it. How can we be encouraged by unbelievers? The answer is clear, “We can’t!” Oh, we might learn some things from those who are not Spirit-led but we can never receive spiritual help from those who do not walk in the Spirit. You can’t get water out of a dry well unless you redrill it. Perhaps many need a redrilling? I, for one, want all of Christ’s Spirit He can allow me to have. The older I get, the more I realize without Him I am nothing. But the good news is, we have Him because we received Him when we confessed our sins and invited Him to be with us even in the fire. Yes, He promised to never leave us, so may we all look up and be at peace in Him.

1 Kings 18:44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that He said, “There is a cloud as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So He said, “Get up, say to Ahab, ‘prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’”

As you remember it had not rained for 3-1/2 years. Now we see Elijah the prophet praying and sending his servant out to see if any rain was on the horizon. The seventh time which is God’s time, the servant said “I see a little cloud about the size of man’s hand rising out of the sea.

Well, with this pandemic we are in I see a little break through coming and we must prepare for the cloud burst. Our responsibility is to immediately affirm and keep on affirming. Which simply means to keep on keeping on! I know we are in some very discouraging days with the fear of sickness and the smoke from California. I believe with all my heart we are going to enjoy a great awakening. However, as you know there are always just a remnant that forges ahead. I do believe we are a remnant church and we must rise in faith and proclaim the goodness of God.

We must continue to teach and preach the good news and remind people this is not the end for believers. The best is yet to come. We are only on the proving grounds and we will face Jesus face to face in His glory. It will be worth it all, stand your ground.

If anyone is worn down and weary, come to these altars and let’s seek His presence together. Many people are missing out. We must have the Body of Christ in fellowship. He will lift you up and encourage your walk of faith. Remember a little cloud is rising up.

faithful Members of Spirit Filled:

Here we are in the third Sunday of a five Sunday month. Most pastors are excited for five Sundays however this has been a very difficult month and we are only halfway through.

The Bible clearly teaches those who have a personal relationship with Jesus, it is good even in bad. But we must focus on Him not ourselves. Sometimes I think we can get our eyes off heaven when days are so difficult. We must remember the prize set before us.

Philippians 3:14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

When we are in the valley of despair and being hammered, we can lose sight of our “upward call of God”. I often say, “if the devil had power to kill us, we would all be dead.” He is trying to weaken our faith, so let’s all look up and take hope, Jesus is our strength. Someone wisely said “it is hard to keep vision when someone is poking you in your eye.

This is why we need and must have the Body of Christ. As we unite in worship and prayer, we will be strengthened. I thank God for each and every member as you all know, yes we have Jesus but we need each other, He our creator made it this way.

We have a lot of people doing double duty and I want to thank each and everyone of you who help carry the load.  We must stand together and pray all the more.

Every time we gather in corporate prayer, my heart is full of joy and I receive supernatural strength. No one is saying these are not hard times but we are saying we have the power of Christ’s Spirit within.

                                                                    Pastor   Roger

Welcome to August 9 2020. This month is rare 5 Sundays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Fridays. Well, that makes for long weekends. We were hoping 2020 would be a perfect year as in 20-20, however it seems just the opposite. We are under full attack, so what shall we as Christians do? Shall we retreat, give up, and let the enemy win? I think NOT! One warrior once said we are completely surrounded; this is a good time to attack!

Well I know one thing for sure; our Lord Jesus has not left us. I really believe He is testing us to see how we will react in the end times. Yes, there are many things out of control, but we know who holds us and holds tomorrow.

If I, as your Pastor, ever needed this body of believers to rise up and stand together, it is now. This is no time to let the enemy divide us. Anyone can second guess every decision, that’s not difficult to do. What we must do is bind together in the Name of Jesus. You know, it’s those songs we have been singing for thirty years.

The only way I know to overcome is by the prayer of believers, it’s all in the Bible.

Let’s continue to pray a covering over our church and especially our school opening next week. We are all leaders once your born into Christ’s Kingdom and no one can sit back and second guess those who are doing their best to keep these doors open.

I pray our theology is correct as we are pre-trib. I don’t want to see what will happen to the church if we go into the tribulation. I still believe Jesus is about to rapture His bride and I pray it will be soon. In the meantime, we must remember it is His strength, not ours that keeps us in these times.

God Bless,

Pastor   Roger

It is not difficult to write to those you love, and I love the Body of Christ, our wonderful church. No, we are not the only Body but we are a Body. One thing I know for sure, we win whether we live or die. Well we are living right now and I think we should be sure and keep our eyes on Jesus and how He redeemed us from death. What a wonderful God we serve and now we are getting a chance to stand up for His Name. We must not be defeated by what the enemy is saying through the media. One person said how can we improve; then the answer was quit watching the news. I agree yet I want to encourage everyone to stay in God’s Word and if possible, gather in these corporate prayer meetings. I know you pray at home same as you have a relationship with Jesus. However, there is power in prayer meetings with the Body of Believers. Jesus is the one who birthed His church. His bride and I for one want to do all I can to bring light in this most difficult time.

We are in the middle of a crises but our eyes are on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Think about that, He began faith in you and I; now He must finish it, How does your faith grow? Untested faith is useless, so our faith must be tested in order to grow. It is not faith in faith but faith in Jesus Christ who is our victory. Jesus has already won the battle and what He wants out of us is to live like we believe it.

As a born-again Christian, you must believe He defeated the devil on Mount Calvary. He rose from the dead and He is coming back for those who believe in Him.

We believe, we serve no matter what the cost.

Halfway through July and what a fun summer it has been so far. None of us believe this virus is not real because many have had “the sickness”. However, I am concerned as to how many do not see the real battle. First and foremost, this is a spiritual attack against Jesus Christ and His Kingdom. If Christians ever needed to gather together and pray, it is now. The Bible clearly instructs the Body of Christ to join together and pray for God’s protection. We must never allow the enemy to intimidate us as born-again believers. We must pray against these attacks on the Body of Christ. You know what has happened in California even home gatherings are now outlawed. There are physical attacks against many Catholic churches and as non-Catholics, you might not care but these attacks will increase to every church if we don’t cry out to God for a stop to this evil. Yes, we must take precaution the very best we can but if we allow fear to govern our church, it is a sure sign of lack of faith. You know we must have faith to please God. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

We must never forget what I call “the Jesus factor” and that is after we have taken every precaution, we must never forget we are not of this world, we are part of His Kingdom. He promises to never leave us or forsake us and that is the real truth.

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, yes well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

One does not have to be a Bible Scholar to understand this verse, but one does have to have faith to believe it and live it.

                                                                    God Bless,

Fathers Day

Today we celebrate a great tradition. All sons and daughters express their feelings, emotions, and love towards their fathers. It is a lovely way to remember the honor of fatherhood. This day we also realize that there is no society that could be grown without fathers. A father is the most precious gift of God who brings us on earth and grows a next generation with his priceless love, care, and sacrifices…
Without our Father in Heaven we would surely be destroyed.  In Mathew 9:9 it tells us how to pray, Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name”.  His name is holy and as we honor our fathers here on earth, we must remember to honor our Holy Father in Heaven.  He is the creator of all and deserves our worship.
In today’s world, more than any other time in history, we need to acknowledge our heavenly father.  He is the only hope we must have to make it through the next day.  Our earthly fathers can only do so much to get us through these trying times, but our heavenly father will always see us through whatever we are going through.  We must learn to always call on Jesus, our heavenly father, and receive His healing and comfort.
As I always say, “It is all about Jesus”, He is the way, the truth, and the light.   As we celebrate this Father’s Day let us take time to remember our Heavenly Father in Heaven.

                                                                            God Bless

The Children

Well, our 30th anniversary has passed and it was a wonderful celebration. We want to give a big thank you to John and the men who worked so hard to serve our great church. I especially want to thank our Yap Island members who also loaded the Coffman’s U-Haul Wednesday afternoon. What a blessing all of you laborers are as I know God will continue to bless each and every one of you. I have been thinking all week about what a great job you men did and then Friday morning our Daily Bread really gave confirmation. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. (10) For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.

This has always been one of God’s greatest blessings to our church, as we have so many committed men and women who always pitch in to help make this a wonderful place to be.

Now as we enter the summer, we are seeking God has to how do we reach more boys and girls with the gospel. I think first every youth leader, teacher, Rangers, Missionettes and even the nursey should ask God to renew their vision for kids. One thing I have learned if the leader isn’t excited about their ministry, the people sure won’t be. I know we all are sold out to Jesus but we all must pray and ask God to let the spiritual fire burn inside and this goes for me as well as all of you. Jesus was always loving children and forbid the disciples of keeping them from Him. I sure remember my Sunday School teachers and felt their love for me as they taught these great Bible stories. We won’t have to keep telling people we love them when they can sense our spirit just like we sense theirs. We will win them by the love of Jesus and the power of His Word.

                                                                    God Bless,
