To the HIGHEST

Glory to God in the highest! Have you ever asked yourself if in fact you glorify God to the highest? We have a lot that should bring glory to God. First of all, I believe we should glorify God for allowing us to be born a human and then being born-again as a spiritual being. The Bible teaches that only born-again human beings will join in that final chapter where His bride is revealed to the universe. What a thought, that although we feel so unworthy He will reveal us to every living being as His chosen ones.
Isaiah 42:7 Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.
We were made for the glory of God, and one way we bring Him glory is in times of stress and difficulties we stand our ground and walk by faith. God’s plan is that we are a witness in times of grief and disappointment. It’s not easy and it doesn’t come without years of discipling. However, it is not impossible once we learn to yield to the Holy Spirit for strength and direction.
I Peter 2:9-10 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. A people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God, once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Today as we stand to give God glory, may we remember He is worthy of all praise and worship. May God be forever blessed through His Son and His people.

Direction for the Month of June

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgements, and his paths beyond tracing out!  Romans 11:33
God can do all things! “

When the disciples heard this they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

The Lord is moving upon the nations, and He is saying, “

Come, and let us return (TO YOUR FIRST GLORY) unto the Lord, for he hath torn, and he will heal us, he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days will he revive us, in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning, and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth

(Hosea 6:1-3).

I believe we are in the third day. Two thousand years from the birth of Jesus and now sixteen years into the third thousand. So when will He return? No man knows not, even Jesus in His flesh, but believe me, His Spirit one with His father know full well when it is time for that great wedding of the bride and it will not take place on the sin infested world.

So what is the word for June of 2016? June being the sixth month, the number six is the number of man, beast, satan, flesh; carnal, toil and strain of the flesh or natural realm; work, sorrow, secular completeness.

The word is “Holiness”. He said,
“Holy, Holy, Holy!” Be ye holy for I am holy; for without holiness, no man shall see the Lord!

Memorial Day

Please remember our Veterans on Memorial Day and every day. Please pause for a moment or two to consider the sacrifices of all Veterans who have given freely so that we all may enjoy our freedom. As it was their job to defend our freedom, so it becomes our job to honor their memories.

Memorial Day, once there was a time to commemorate those who have fought and died in wars to keep us great. Those feelings, now I fear, have greatly weakened instead replaced by America’s love of the 3 day weekend. (Richard Shuster) Thank you Richard Shuster.

Norma and I want to thank all of you who kept the home fires burning as we enjoyed a short vacation. We had a wonderful time of rest and relaxation in New York and a week at home. Many things have happened in two weeks and we are so blessed to be a part of this great church body. I also want to thank all of you for my Happy Birthday wishes and blessings.

We enjoyed the great service we attended in New York City but I can assure there is no place like our home church. Perhaps one of the most underrated blessings a Christian enjoys is a church where they know they are loved and appreciated.

God is pouring out His Spirit on our congregation with blessings, signs and wonders. One of the greatest gifts is the gift of His Holy Spirit. Jesus wants all of His children to be filled with the Baptism of His Holy Spirit with evidence.

We are living in the most exciting time as we anticipate the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Discipline and Priorities

We need to learn two principles which are crucial to life.  First, we need to learn the principle of discipline.  Life is not doing what you want to do; it is doing what you ought to do.  Paul said this was a struggle in his life.  Each day he had to deal with doing what was right.

Secondly, we should learn the principle of priorities.  Your relationship with God is the single, most important relationship in your life.  We must encourage ourselves to set godly priorities and discipline for ourselves and follow them.

Don’t allow problems that stem from disagreement about minor, “temporal” or non-eternal things derail you from your walk with God.  We tend to be more “problem conscious” than “power conscious.”  Perhaps, this is why Jesus instructed His disciples, on one occasion, to come aside or come apart for a while.   (See Mark6:31)  If you don’t “come apart for a while”, then you might “fall apart for a while.”  Jesus set the example for us by taking time to “unload” in the presence of His Father.  Prayer is an important part of this church and should be. Prayer needs to be an important part in our daily life with God.

Satan has made it his priority to keep the saints of God from their proprieties.  He does his best to keep us so bogged down in “things” that we forget to spend time with God.

True Worship

Good morning everyone, thank you for deciding to be here with us this morning.  Way too often we forget the effort you went through to get here–some Sundays more than others!

Romans 12:1-2 says, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Paul is giving us some encouragement to serve and dedicate our lives to Christ.  As hard as this life can be at times, this is the best, and as far as I am concerned, the only way to live this life here on earth.  My prayer this morning is that whether you are at the top of the mountain or in the lowest valley, that you will draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  He will fill your heart with peace and your mind with the wisdom and knowledge of Him.

Pray

Today we honor all the ladies in our church and in our lives. We men, at Spirit Filled, know full well we love and need all of you women who do so much for us and our great church. We are blessed beyond measure of all of your labor and love to us and to our Lord Jesus Christ. I have never understood the gender argument, the Word of God is extremely clear that we need each other to be complete. Just because a few mentally imbalanced people think they can become the opposite sex by whatever means they can find, they will always be what our Creator created them to be.

God’s word is very powerful and to the point in Romans chapter 1 and 2. How can anyone read these passages and not realize we are in the last days. Many will say “well I am not living like that!” However, verse 32 of chapter 1 says:

Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them

If we cast a vote for any candidate who approves abortion or same sex marriage, are we not approving of such things? Our prayer at Spirit Filled is that God would bring our nation back to Him. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to lead these men and women back to the truth of God’s Word. Mothers are a powerful influence in your families and even if you think your children’s not listening, you still have the most powerful weapon which is intercessory prayer! Pray and obey and plead the blood of Jesus over your family each and every day.

     Galatians 6:9

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

National Day of Prayer May 5th

This year’s theme for the National Day of Prayer is “Wake-up America” emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually to return to the God of our Fathers in reverence for His Holy Name. The scripture chosen this year is Isaiah 58:1 “

Shout it aloud, do not hold back, raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the house of Jacob their sins

.” I encourage everyone of you to meet with us at noon Thursday. America really needs prayer as we approach this election. Will we be able to save our beautiful nation for our children and grandchildren?
This house, our church, has been built upon the words of Jesus “

my house shall be called a house of prayer

” Matthew 21:13. The question is ‘are we raising up a generation who will keep these words?’ We must build upon the Rock of Salvation. Our nation is at a crossroad and so is the church. Will we be able to keep our God given vision alive or will we go the path of entertainment? There’s nothing wrong with Christian entertainment but if it ever takes the place of prayer, we are doomed to failure. We must stand our ground and believe God that He is the only hope we have in a sin infested world.

We are believing God for even greater outpourings in our church but we must remain completely dependent upon Him to guide us and give us wisdom as we are in a great time of growth and revival. I am convinced we have these great blessings because of so many of you who pray and obey. Let’s stand together as believers in the power of Christ’s resurrection and His soon return.

Evangelist Outreach Ministry

Spirit Filled Church is on the move, God is really answering our prayers. I am so thankful for all of His blessings. He is adding daily to the church those who are being saved. Could it be that after all of these years of prayer, God is really bringing this great blessing to our city? I really do believe that is exactly what He is doing. Now we are praying about adding 3000 square feet for more office space and some extra class rooms.

Brother Mario Murillo has agreed to allow our church to advertise using his name as our Evangelist Outreach Ministry. He also would like to lease half of the new space as God allows us to expand. It is no small complement to all of you who make up this body for him to have chosen to be a part of our church. He is a gifted man of God who has the gift of discerning of spirits and he has confirmed this is the church God has directed him and his family to be a part of.

Brother Mario’s vision and ours go hand in hand. He wants to win the lost and see people healed in the Name of Jesus. Who would have believed that God would add this kind of a blessing to a little church that began 26 years ago in a garage?
Zachariah 4:10 “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see that work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand

.” (The seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world.) NLT

Keep praying and believing and we will see the vision He gave us come to completion. May God bless each and everyone of you who have stood together to be the instrument God chose for Northern Nevada.

Passion Week

Today we begin what is known as Passion Week. When we give any thought, we fully agree this should be a week of passion as we celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is the greatest act of love that has ever been given to this human race. Anyone who is any kind of a Bible student would have to conclude we were all lost and on our way to hell because we were all sinners.

Now we who receive His sacrifice for our sin debt have been freed from the sentence of death. We who believe have eternal life because this sinless man gave Himself in our place. I think any Christian who is passionless surely has not clearly understood what He gave for all of us. We know and teach He was God in flesh, gave up His throne in heaven to become a human subject to all our frailties. He, the perfect man, allowed these self-righteous leaders to mock Him, spit upon Him, beat and crucify Him when He could have called 10,000 angels to rescue Him but rather submit to humiliation and death to give all who would believe eternal life.

Yes, this should be the greatest week for every Christian as we reflect on the truth of eternal life. Jesus promised that we, who stay true to the end will, rule and reign with Him forever! What a grand concept and to think we can’t earn it just believe, receive and have a better life for walking in this truth. I pray this will be the greatest passion week of our live.

Keeping on Focus on Jesus

Once again we find ourselves in a very busy time of ministry. Palm Sunday next week, Easter following, City-Wide Prayer this Monday and both Men and Women’s ministry still this month. We also are encouraging everyone to support the Franklin Graham Prayer Rally in Carson City, March 30th at noon in front of the Capitol Building. We are cancelling our Pastors Prayer Meeting in order that we can meet there and pray for our nation and the world. Let’s not forget we have three services scheduled with Mario Murillo April 3rd and 4th.

Yes, we are busy but we must keep our focus and always keep our eyes on our great Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All of these services we trust will help win the lost and extend Christ’s Kingdom in our area. We are learning the only way to have fruit that remains is to saturate everything we do in prayer. This is where the main line denominations have errored by allowing the enemy to side track them by losing this vision to pray and win the lost. Of course we want to feed the poor and cloth the naked but we must lead all in need to conversion to Jesus and being grounded in a real spirit filled church.

Anyone can discern the problems very few have answers to this most difficult questions. Here, at Spirit Filled Church, God has given us a great leadership and great people who know exactly what we are doing. Prayer, Praise/Worship and the Word of God is our sure foundation. My prayer is that we stay with that vision until the rapture of the Bride of Christ. I know it was the Holy Spirit who gave us this truth who so many call too simple. However, I have no doubt God clearly spoke even before we launched the first service.

Keep the Faith, Pastor Roger
