Now we know Jesus is perfect love because He said “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13.
Yes, He was made flesh, lived on earth, crucified and on the third day rose from the grave. This is the only true and living God. We must keep our eyes on Him because He is returning soon for His beloved bride!
We Honor Our Veterans
“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave” – Elmer Davis
When I think about sacrifice, I always think of the price our Lord and Savior paid for our freedom. Freedom from invisible chains that hold captives in prison. Only Jesus can really set us free, and guarantee eternal life for all who will chose Him as Lord and Savior.
As we think about soldiers today, I am reminded that the Bible has a lot to say about that subject. 2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. Verse 3 Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
Jesus is reminding us that we must be focused on serving Him and well trained to fight against the wiles of the devil. This spiritual war will not last forever, but our spirits will. So we must turn from the flesh and build the spirit that will be with Jesus for eternity.
Happy Nevada Day!
Happy Nevada Day Nevadans! I love this beautiful area where God planted our wonderful church. Of course there are things we don’t love about Nevada; such as the immorality, gambling and being known as the most unchurched state in the union. However, we know and love the Word of God.
Romans 5:20 –The law was added so that the trespass might increase, but where sin increased, grace increased all the more. We often quote it by saying “where sin abounds so much more does grace abound.”
I know all of us are aware of the miracle of those who are being born into Christ’s Kingdom each and every week. Just keep in mind, we are all involved in this miracle. The church is of course all of us put together, each one doing their part God assigned us. We know that national average for souls born-again are around twenty a year. Well praise God, we have that amount monthly.
If Nevada is the most unchurched state, we know that means over ninety percent of Nevadans do not attend. But get this – 7 out of 10 unchurched people have never been invited to church in their whole lives! We are praying that God will stir each and everyone of us to be an evangelist.
What is your assignment?
As born-again Christians, we really do believe these words of Jesus. The challenge is how can we care and not care at the same time? Start with prayer then make a promise to yourself that you will read God’s word everyday for the rest of your life. The more we learn about God, the more we will know what things we can change and what things we cannot change trusting our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to take care of those we cannot.
It seems there are far too many Christians that are expecting God to change things He has clearly given us as our appointed assignments. Many would ask, tell me which things are mine and what must I leave to Him? Here again is why we must have a personal relationship with Him because it is not always the same for each of us.
There are God given assignments that may be assigned to you that I could never complete, and vise versa.
Seek God, He is not far from you in your time of need. He wants to lift those burdens and grow us into maturity at the same time.
If we are not growing, we are not walking according to His perfect will. Jesus asked how can there be quarrels among you. We must forgive and move on to the higher plane He has for us.
May the God of all peace comfort you in every situation, He delights in blessing His own!
Indian Summer
Fall time in Nevada is known as Indian summer. It is my favorite time of the year. We usually have come out of a long hot summer knowing full well cold weather is on the way. So, we Nevadans, have learned to enjoy this most glorious time and praise God for His blessings.
I doubt you’ll read this for a weather report so let me move on to my calling by Christ Himself. That is to seek and save the lost and bind up the broken-hearted. No Pastor could do much, if anything, until he learns this is a body ministry. It takes many hands to get things done in His Kingdom. If you need prove, stop by on a Thursday morning and see all the work that goes on by all of our volunteers.
Yes, God is blessing our church and of course the boogie man would love to stop this great outpouring even though this is so called witches month, I have never been attacked by a witch or goblin. I have however seen little foxes spoil great vines. Let me remind everyone of us to be on guard against petty arguments that do not amount to a hill of beans. One thing that helps me is if you must be always right and know everything about everything, then so be it. No use trying to help anyone who knows everything because there is nothing you can do that they don’t already know. So, God bless them in the Name of Jesus and all the rest of us will just keep on winning souls.

Oregon Gunman Targets Christians
Matthew 24:4-5, And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.

Are You Expecting?
How can we claim we have faith if we do not expect to receive from God? The Word of God teaches we must have faith to please God. We also must have faith to receive. We have been studying the book of Hebrews and we all are familiar with Chapter 11:1 – “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”
We, at Spirit Filled, have every right to expect God to even increase our blessings. We have not wavered from the vision God gave us in May 1990. Lots of prayer and seed planting sown with faith in these 25 years.
Walk by faith expecting a great harvest and we will see our city changed for the glory of God.

Take Me Away…
The good news, Luke 21:28 When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
